File Sources

You can think of it as a repository for file sources—a place to manage media resources. It supports adding, removing, renaming, and rescanning file sources.

How to add file sources

  • Local addition: Metadata and viewing history are stored locally. Direct and convenient, no server needed, but no cross-device sync or multi-user management.
  • Private cloud addition: Deploy a media server on NAS or another device for multi-user management, permissions, cross-device sync, and advanced scraping and management.

Supported file source types

  1. Local folders: Folders on phone, computer, or NAS
  2. Network shared files: Samba, WebDAV, FTP, etc.
  3. Cloud disk files: Aliyun Drive, 115, 123, etc.

Other management operations

Adding private cloud and file sources is covered in Quick Start. Other operations are described here.

Private cloud

  • Connect: Click an item in the private cloud list; “Connecting” or “Connected” means the connection has switched.
  • Refresh: Click the list or pull down to refresh; if it shows “Connection Failed”, click the list to retry.
  • Edit: Click the more icon → Edit to change notes, address, username, password, etc.
  • Delete: Click the more icon → Delete to remove the private cloud address; its media resources will be removed from the library.

File sources

  • Refresh: Pull down to refresh, or click a file source’s more icon → Refresh media files; or open the list and refresh in the top-right area.
  • Add folder: Click more icon → Add folder, or open the list and add in the top-right area.
  • Reauthorize: When cloud drive authorization expires, click more → “Reauthorize” and complete authorization on the page.
  • Edit: Click more → Modify to edit notes and other file source info.
  • Remove from media library: Click a file source’s more icon → “Remove” to remove the whole source; or open the list, click “Select” top right, and remove selected folders.
